WHO WE ARE AND

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

New Heart Church is a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship, we grow closer to God and one another. The Bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers.

New Heart Church strives to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. New Heart Church makes an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our county, country, and world changed.

New Heart Church highly values our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship and ultimately grow closer to God. We value the Word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

our values

story

We believe the Bible is one story from beginning to end of God relentlessly pursuing us after we broke away from Him. He’s constantly at work to bring us all back to Him. Our story is found within His story - we were once lost but now can be found in Him because of Jesus. We recognize our collective stories can only be fulfilled in His story.

wholeness

We strive to proclaim Christ to present everyone complete in Him. (Col. 1:28). We desire to be a community that reflects Jesus in His life of compassion, grace, truth, and love. Our being made whole can only come through a living relationship with Jesus Christ and each other - thus, we live out the two greatest commands of loving the Lord with our all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and loving our neighbor as much as we love ourselves.

restoration

Jesus came to restore that which is broken and lost. From our broken relationship with Him, each other, and the creation itself, we seek to be restored and help bring restoration through Him to the lives and world around us.

authenticity

We are a community that encourages everyone to come as they are to God and each other. God loves us as we are and not as we should be but His love doesn’t allow us to stay as we are. We want the world to see followers of Jesus being real and showing their scars and wounds that have been and are being healed by Him.

relationship

We see from the beginning that God created us for a relationship with Him and each other. We desire to walk and talk with Him each day, just as He had planned for us to do long ago. We desire to love each other well, as the Apostle Paul describes what love is and how it expresses itself in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Agape love is the kind of love Paul describes in this passage - it means a holy, pure, sacrificial love that holds nothing back. Ultimately it's the highest meaning of love that expresses who God is and how He loves us. A relationship is the means of how it’s expressed.

our beliefs

our beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testaments are by God’s direction and inspiration and have no error.  While the scriptures began with God, they were written by people and contain the backgrounds, lifestyles, and languages of the writers. The word of God is the authority on all matters of the Christian faith.

Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our sins in his death on the cross. There are no good works that can be done, or effort put forth, by man that can pay that price. It is only by God’s grace that we are saved from eternal separation from God.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is fully man and fully God. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now at the right hand of the Father and intercedes between God and people.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. He is the one that brings a person under conviction to recognize the need for forgiveness in their life. He takes up permanent residence in one’s heart following their obedience. He then continues to work as a guide, to instruct and empower the Christian for Godly living.

The Church

We believe that there is only one church. It is made up of people who have accepted Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. The Bible teaches believers to gather together and devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, using our gifts, and building up one another. We share in the Lord’s Supper by following the example of the early church. We practice Baptism by water (immersion). We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and the local body has the freedom to govern itself and its affairs.
